I Bought a pair of bunnies on the third of may..and now they have died, and not because they were sick but because my neighborhood has some stray dogs that decided they wanted to see what bunnies taste like. I am so sad, I really bonded with them even if I only had them for a few days, it feels like years because of how much time I spent with them; I played with them, fed them, the usual stuff I even slept on the floor literally in front of them once, and their death is really hitting me hard. I understand this may seem trivial in the eyes of some people that have had their pets for years and years, but I could really use some support because I found their little bodies this morning and I am finding it very difficult to cope right now, everytime I close my eyes I see their mutilated bodies and it is making me cry and hate dogs more and more. They were both mostly black with white, George had the most adorable white nose and Anthony had a white paw.

Thank you for your post. Your pain helps me. Not trivial to me.

Dear Melwills,  I am so very sorry for the loss of your precious bunnies.  Having had rabbits for 10 years now, and losing 4 of them, I know how painful it is, especially when it happens so tragically.  I would like to know where you were housing them, though.  Maybe I can help you come up with a safer solution if you ever decide that you are ready to adopt bunnies again.  Mine have always been kept in the house and had the run of the place.  They were mostly potty trained.  I understand that the image you have of them is very hard to bear, I can only hope that it was fast and they felt no pain.  Please feel free to pm me if you would like to talk in private.  Know that you have my sincere condolences over your loss.
