Today is the day that  she will meet Jesus. I haven’t slept in 2 days and I spent last night cradling her, massaging her, whispering sweet nothings in her ear. As I watched and her heard her labored breathing, I told her how much I love her, how much joy she’s brought to my life, how, I wish I could take all her pain and suffering and transfer it to my body so she does not spend another second suffering, that it will all be over soon, and she will be at peace.

Thank you for this message board and support group. The poem May I Go Now, made me cry, of course, but also gave me peace.

I am so sorry you are needing to go through this with your dear fur baby. I totally feel the love written in your words that your baby meant the world to you and the loved you both shared. We fur parents always want to take away our babies suffering and would gladly change places with them. Your grief will be deep and your heart ache will consume you for awhile. Please cry as often as you need to and remember the journey you shared with your baby. In the end it's all we have, Memories. It's only been just over 7 months since I made the same decision you are facing and I still cry and miss my Termy so very much. I don't believe that the hole in my heart will ever go away but I've learned live a new normal as you will also. Come here often, where you will find comfort and support from all of here that have faced the same loss as you are facing now.

I am so sorry for the suffering of your baby and that of yourself. Having recently lost a little one I share your pain. I always feel they are on loan from God and that one day He calls in that loan. Yes, Zoey is with Jesus and one day you will be reunited for eternity. Where once we felt such joy we now feel empty and unbearably sad but as time passes our sadness will ease and our tears become smiles as we scroll through our memories of the joy and love we shared. That love is still with us, we carry it within us always. And if you are like me, others will come into your life and the cycle of love will continue, a tribute to your love of Zoey and hers of you. The poem, May I Go Now is also a favorite of mine. God bless you my friend.
