I just got back from the surgeon with my beautiful 10 year old Sheltie named Elliott. The surgeon told me that he could not operate on Elliott because his liver cancer and urethra cancer was to advanced.
I am numb inside, I feel helpless that I can't do anything to help my baby. We are going to see an oncologist to see what he suggests. Sorry if there misspelled words as I am trying to type through teers. Thank You for listening to me, Elliott and Phil

I am so very sorry for the sad news about Elliott. I know that feeling of pure shock and helplessness when you hear that kind of news. It cannot be true but deep down you know that it is. I have had that news given to me a few times in my life with dogs, it never is easy to hear. The only way you can help your Elliott is to give him love and let him know just what is happening ( even though they know ). Spend as much time with him as you can and love him, love him, love him. I am so sorry. I hate that any of us have to go through this horribly hard time, I wish this never had to happen to any of us.. Sending prayers to you and Elliott, Helen

I am so very sorry your precious Elliot is so ill with cancer. I know you are terrified. It is a dreadful disease, but it sounds like you have a good plan to talk with an oncologist. Please know you can come here ANY TIME for support or to just vent your feelings. Please don't hesitate to do this if it helps you. We will be here for you. Many of us have sick pups, as well, so we know your pain and fear. I will also keep you and Elliot in my prayers. Please keep us updated. Sending hugs, Melissa

Elliott and I Thank You so very much for your kind words and prayers.
I will never forget the day I went to choose him out of the litter at a friends house. The other pups were chasing him around the yard, he was the runt of the litter but was faster than them all. Elliott saw me kneeling down to get a better look at the pups and he jumped right into my arms. It was then I knew this was new buddy. I will shower Elliott with more Love than he can possibly handle during this tough time but then again, there wasn't a day that went by that he didn't get a hug and a kiss every time I saw him. Phil, Elliots Dad

Phil, I'm so sorry to hear about Elliot's cancer. I'm praying that the oncologist will give you better news than the surgeon gave you. You and Elliot are in my prayers.
