Last night (8/12/20) I made the very difficult decision to have my baby put down. He was 16, a yorkiepoo, and the source of unwavering, unconditional love. For the last two years he lived with diabetes, diagnosed just before Christmas of 2018. He went blind in January 2019 and was deaf. He was a fighter through numerous health complications over the last 10 months.

He had his first seizure in early June of this year. Last night he had another, worse than the first. While under care of the vet last night he had a third. He was in pain, his cries haunt me. In critical condition, and with no promise he would make it through the night, I made the decision to let him go peacefully. Without pain and with me by his side.

I am so utterly devastated. The light of my life has gone dark. My first dog, the best dog. The one I would, and did, do anything for. My days were consumed with caring for him, with loving him with all my being. There’s such an emptiness without him.

To my baby boy, I love you forever and always.

I can feel the lonesomeness you are experiencing right now. The sudden change of having a love in your life to in the blink of an eye, they are not there is a huge task to adjust to. It shocks the system.

I am so sorry for your loss. Your little boy sounds like he was adorable. No wonder you loved him as you did. I am very impressed that even though he was battling numerous ailments, he was a fighter. What a spirit! A really great dog.

Please feel free to continue to post on this pet loss page all about how things are going for you. You can talk about anything. Even the things that you think maybe you shouldn't. I cried so much when my pets died. I could have been posting all day about the crying.

Please keep in touch with this page and let us know all that has happened since you last posted.

God bless,
Stephanie
