Lost my sweet furbaby KC 4 days ago. She had a fast growing mouth tumor . Had her since age 2 as a rescue. She would have been 14 this Aug.. 2nd. I miss her so much and am heartbroken. I hope I made the right decision to say goodbye when I did. She was basically in palliative care with us the past month but when tumor started bleeding again and the way she looked at me I felt she was telling me it's ok Dad to let  me go. She was so sweet and gentle. I'm stricken with guilt that I didn't give us maybe a few more days together . The tumor was so fast growing. Vet said at her age she would probably not survive any surgery to remove the cancerous tumor. I hope it gets easier over time cause it still hurts so bad. I'll love her forever. OMG this is so hard

Tom, I'm so very sorry for the loss of KC.  I know it sucks, I recently lost my little boy Champ whom was with me for almost 20 years.  You were making the best decision at the time and not for you but for KC.  You didn't want to see her in pain.  It is tough to look at your pet and not know exactly what they are feeling.  It would be so much easier if they just fell asleep and didn't wake up so we wouldn't have to make any decision.  Sometimes we have to and it is never easy.  I'm sure KC loved you very much and that love will always stay with you.  Remember the good times and cherish those memories.  I still cry over not having my little boy and probably will off and on until the end of my days.  There is no shame in missing KC, your human and you loved her.  You are so lucky to have had that experience.   Take care and know there are many of us feeling exactly like you.
