I posted in early May of this year about my 12-year-old kitty, Zoie, who had been diagnosed in early April with a liver tumor. The vet told me in April that she had a few weeks at most to live, but she was a trooper and made it until tonight.

She died suddenly and (I think) without pain, since she was chipper and cuddly and alert this morning. Earlier this evening she suddenly threw up once, went in a corner, and died, just like that.

Since she died relatively painlessly and quickly at home, I guess I couldn't really ask for her to go in a better or more peaceful way, but it still breaks my heart. I've had her since I was 12 years old, so it's really difficult to say goodbye. I live in an apartment and don't have a yard to bury her or anything like that, so I'm taking her body into the vet at 8am before work to have her cremated. R.I.P. Zoie. I love you.

Dear Miss B:
I am so very sorry about your loss of Zoie.  It is very hard to lose a best friend.  It is always a blessing when there is no suffering.

I know you are very sad but please remember that you shared many wonderful loving years with Zoie.  You are very young and have a very big heart to have shared such a love with Zoie.

She is at the Bridge now and you will see her again one day in happiness.

Many hugs to you.

My heart goes out to you. So sorry to hear about Zoie.
I know it's hard, it helps to remember the good times and celebrate your lives together- and special that you both found each other.

Miss B,
Let me extend condolences to you on the loss of your kitty Zoie.
I don't think it matters how long you've had them with you, or how they pass; it's just plain hard to deal with. To have them with us forever would never be long enough.

Now she is no longer in pain, no longer having cancer ravage her little body. I take great comfort in knowing that my schnauzer Molly no longer has that blasted tumor overgrowing her little mouth that used to give such sweet kisses. Think of Zoie, young and healthy again, making friends at Rainbow Bridge.

May you find a little peace today in a sweet memory of Zoie.

I am SO sorry to hear about Zoie. She was so lucky to have you as a mommy who loved her and cared for her for so long. She was holding on for YOU. She must have been waiting to make sure you were ready to say goodbye before she left you.  Although, you are never really prepared. I lost my baby on July 3rd and I miss him very much. He, too, went quickly and painless and I do believe that is comforting. There are lots of loving babies at the Bridge greeting Zoie as we speak. Everyone greives in their own way, but for me, it helps SO much being here, talking about my baby, laughing at the silly things he did, and digging up all his pictures. I had my baby cremated, too. That way, wherever I live, he can come with me.
Please know that lots of hugs are being sent your way. We are all here for you.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.  My dog, Nelson, fell alseep yesterday so my emotions are just too raw currently, but I would like you know that I'm thinking of you.

I am so sorry about your loss of Zoie.  These Precious Angels bring so much Love and Joy into our lives and when they leave it feels as if our life left with them.  My Precious Angel Christopher has been gone for almost 16 months and the pain feels as if he left yesterday.  You and Zoie are in my Prayers.

Big Hugs

Dear Miss B,

I am so sorry to hear you have had to say farewell to your beloved Zoie.  What a beautiful name for a kitty!  I was relieved to read that she passed at home on her own terms, sparing you having to make that awful decision many of us have had to make.   She is now at the Rainbow Bridge running and playing happily with all of our furbabies!

Tell us more about your girl when you feel up to it and post a photo if you wish.  We would love to see her.

Many hugs and condolences,

Melissa

(((((MissB and Zoie))))).  I'm so sorry for your loss.  Zoie sounds like she was a great kitty and so lucky to have you for a mom.  No matter how old they are when we lose them, it's never enough time.  She will always be in your heart.  Cremation is nice.  That way, you can take her with you wherever you go.  Take care and know that we are here for you.

Your friend,

I am so sorry for your loss.  Little Zoie sounds like a very special kitty.  Drew TenderHeartWolf is so right "No matter how old they are when we lose them, it's never enough time".

Our Pepe was nearly 13 but we always hoped we would have many more years.  The pain is so great isn't it when we have to say goodbye to our dear friends.  Sending you many hugs.
