What are the nicknames you called your kitty?

I'm really happy for you that you found a kitty in need to welcome into your life. What is her favorite toy right now?

I struggle with the guilt of not wanting to forget my kitty too (he passed 1 week ago). It's hard to do anything that causes me not to think of him- even if it is unintentional. Like I just get focused on a task or something and my mind is not occupied with thoughts of him.

I know logically that this doesn't mean that I love him any less. I know I can't be steeped in deep sorrow forever- it will destroy my health both physical and mental. I have 2 other kitties that need my love and care, and I have to take care of them too.

I found out about a vet clinic near me that is doing a Winter Solstice Pet Memorial event. A new friend just told me about it, and she said it was beautiful and comforting and really nice to be around other people who "get it". You can register to have them make a luminary with your pet's name that will be displayed during the event. There will be readings and refreshments. And even though I live in MN and it will be cold outside- they are having it outside and I think that is way better than being inside. Not sure why- maybe being more connected to nature?
