My Lila died 2 weeks ago today, and over the last few days I have been in the process of adopting a new dog from a rescue. Lila was a 20 month old blond Pomeranian, this new dog is a 18 month black Pomeranian. Lila was 11 pounds, this new dog weighs 11 pounds. Honestly, this is the first time since she died that I have been really genuinely happy, but at the same time I feel guilty. I like the fact she is similar to Lila, but maybe she is too similar. I want to adopt her because I know she has had a hard life in a short amount of time and I know I could give her a great home, but I wonder  if it is too soon. I thought I was ready, but its possible that I am not. I am 1st on the list to adopt her and if I pull out I know she will go quickly to someone else. I really want another dog, but I don't want Lila to be mad at me for doing it so soon. Can anyone give me any advice on this? Thank you.

RIP Lila <3

I think you are ready and I think Lila had something to do with you
finding this new puppy.  If it wasn't meant to be, you wouldn't
have found her.  I say welcome her, and love her as Lila
would want you to.
