I had been fostering 3 kittens one of which did not eat and had severe diarhhoea. The vet we had taken her to did not treat her well and she died after 3 days. I did not take her to a different vet which my daughter had suggested. I feel terribly guilty and wonder if a more competent vet would have done the right thing? My daughter did ask me to take the kitten to a better clinic! I am filled with guilt. Would the kitten have survived?

I am sorry not to have responded earlier. It is so hard losing a pet, I am sorry for your loss. You did what was best taking her to the vet but it is quite possible she would have died no matter what he did or didn't do. Kittens can get any number of diseases that cause loss of appetite and severe diarrhea. When my daughter was in grade school we fostered three kittens and took them to the vet because they had diarrhea. He gave us medicine but two of them did not survive. I do hope the other kittens don't become sick. I am sure you did all you could to save her.

One among the other two was also exhibiting symptoms. The new vet we took them to has given us a KMR which seems to be to their liking but they also have diarhhoea. I am worried and we are taking all care and precautions. Thanks for the inputs and advice.
