On Tuesday night I was backing out of our driveway and our beautiful Sammy, 15yrs old was hit, he ran away. I was quite stunned and ran inside to get my husband who came out and found Sammy in bad shape because he was paralysed. I then went and got my 11 and 8 yr old girls who had to see him suffer and die about 15 mins later.

This has been the hardest thing I have ever had to go through. We all got to say goodbye, but it was quite traumatizing and very emotional. I keep reliving the feeling of hitting him, the last sound I heard and him running off and then seeing him suffer.

How unfair is this, he was having a peaceful sleep probably and has to endure this tragedy in his last moments.

My 11 yr is so torn up, although is doing a little better today which is good...she was very close to Sammy and is finding it hard to believe he is gone...saying it shouldn't have happened, he could still be here, I want him back etc

No one blames me thankfully.

Sammy was the most amazing friend to us and it should never have happened...our poor boy!!! 😢

So sorry to hear about Sammy. So many accidents happen in life, we just can't make sense of them or explain them.
Only the passing of time will help right now.
I can imagine how you all feel.
Everyone knows it was a accident.
God Bless
