We rescued Our pet a year ago from the boxer rescue. He was such an excellent dog in the home. He was my sidekick he was very loving, full of energy, and he brought joy to my life everyday. Within a week we started noticing his aggression towards strangers, we took him to the vet they gave him Prozac and Xanax, we took him to a school that specialized in aggressive behaviors we did a board and train and attended appointments 2x a week with the trainer for six months. On a trip to the groomer he attacked my husband bit him in the face we went to the ER and a police report had a be made and Nico had to be Quarantined. We tried to get him back to the boxer rescue and drove two hours up to the foster parent where he was Before us he went into attack mode and the boxer rescue refuse to except him back they said the only choice we had was to euthanize him this was back in June. We tried to keep working with him anytime Someone would come to the house he went into attack mode no body could come into the house and he was getting harder to manage when he saw strangers he had attacked the neighbor and one of my sons friends and my husband was worried that he would be a liability. He bit my husband again, he bit the trainer 2x we tried having another trainer come to the house but he went into attack mode then too. We made the sad decision to Euthanize him I feel so much guilt and pain I miss him so much I question if we made the right decision even though everyone said we did. I don't know how to move forward. I miss my boy so much the aggressive side was not him.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I also had to chose euthanasia out of nessesity because of an accident that happened to him. I can understand what you say when you talk about feeling guilt. I feel as though the accident was my fault causing us to have to make the choice to put him to sleep.

I hope you and your husband can remember the times when he was himself soon without the guilt attatched. My puppy was also my sidekick constantly attached to me at the hip.

My heart really aches for you.
