 Hello , new here.

I'm trying to help bring some closure to a loved one who lost her favorite pet cat years ago .

She still talks about this cat even now.   Its believed that her scumbag then husband stole that cat while she was at work and took it to a friends or shelter or some thing .

it was lost around the intersection of Columbus rd and simcoe rd in Oshawa in I believe 1998 .
it was a grey tabby named mikey .  he was tagged too .

we miss that cat so much .  he had quite the personality . like no other

I was going to post some things, but then went into Google and looked up "how to help someone who is grieving the loss of a pet".

There are so many things there which are quite organized and you can read at your leisure so I won't repeat what I have read.

As someone who has survived pet loss and is still in the recovery process my #1 suggestion would be for her to call "free" pet loss hotlines that give comfort and insight to those are grieving the loss of a pet. Whether the loss happened today or years ago. In addition, any hotline will take such a call.

This is the list I personally have always used: https://www.petloss.com/phones.htm

Take care.
