Well, better late than never.  I finally got a couple of pics of the Moose, this is the only one that I could get of his face.  This picture was taken just before he disappeared.

He has lost a good deal of weight during this ordeal.....almost 30 pounds according to his dad, Steve.  That puts him at about 120 right now!  Moose has usually got a pretty good smile going too, but he's still a pretty sick pup, so we hope it comes back when he gets better.  Rick

Rick,
I'm so glad Moose is doing well.  I read your other post, where you tell the story about how Silver Cloud saved him.  Talk about a hero dog!  :-)

OMG..... I missed that, SC saved Moosie?  Wow a hero already to his new friend.  Would love to know the details, looked back through your posts and saw nothing.

Oh Rick, that story of SC and Moose gave me chills.
Luke and LiL sent you home early that day, sent you on your walk earlier than ususal that day, had you walk in that area that day, all so SC could find and save his friend that day.

I remember your saying that Moose welcomed his new friends and showed them the ropes making them feel more at home when they joined your family.  This is really a very special story to warm the heart.  Thank you for taking me back to your post to find it.  :-}

Quick update....Moose checked out very well at the vet on Friday.  No problems with stitches or any of his fixes to his hip.  X-rays all looked great!!  The big ol' guy is up and walking again, but this time under a very interesting looking tie down that allows him to get to food, water and bed, but probably would take Houdini to figure out how to escape.  Nonetheless, I'm still stopping by to check on him daily.

For those of you who are wondering about why no fence, Steve is renting the place he's currently at.  His wife divorced him earlier this year, and he needed to move out of his beautiful home that he himself had built, which had all the necessary fencing and security for pups.  Never being one to take sides in things like this, I can only say that it's tragic to see this young family with three young children being split up!

Moosie will continue to benefit from your prayers and well wishes!  So will Steve and his boys!  God Bless, my PetLoss family!  Rick

Thanks for the update on Moose!  I've been thinking about him and praying for him!  I will now include prayers for his "dad" and his "three brothers!" Glad that Steve got the "Houdini tie-down" so he doesn't wander off again and jeopardize his health! You're a good friend to check up on him like you do....but then again, it's not a chore when it's your buddy you're checkin' up on!  Give the big boy a hug and kiss for me would you?  I'm so glad he's okay!
Oh......and love those 2 boys of yours for me too....they are SPECIAL!

Latest update on the Mooster.....he' been pretty stiff and sore again, and not wanting to be up and walking as he had earlier.  His dad took him back to the vet.  Turns out that somehow one of the titanium screws in his pelvis broke, and this has caused him some pain.  Nobody can come up with a good explanation for how a titanium screw could've broken like that.

Anyway, the vet said that since the healing is going so well in that area, it's not wise to do anything more with it, just up the pain meds for awhile.  When I saw Moose yesterday, he was up and walking around again!  I'm looking forward to him coming over to play with my boys!  Rick
