I found this poem on line and read it at my fur-babies service. I hope it helps others in their time of grief.

JUST A LOAN

An angel came to me one day,

A ball of fur in hand.

The angel gave the ball to me,

As we stood there in the sand.

She said to me, "It's just a loan,

For only a short time."

And she would surely return one day,

For the ball of fur wasn't mine.

I looked down at the ball of fur,

Two eyes stared back at me.

I fell in love upon that day,

As I held it close to me.

Time went by and my love grew,

As close friends we became.

I looked down at my ball of fur,

Life was never again the same.

No matter where I found myself,

My friend would be there too

But then one day the angel came,

I didn't know what to do.

She said that now the time had come,

To take my friend back home.

I watched her leave with tear filled eyes,

As I remembered, "It was just a loan."

Dear One,

I am glad you found a poem to help comfort you.  Poetry and music are wonderful healers.

You have had more than your share of losses these past couple of months.  With Zorra crossing to the bridge and previousy Guiness, I know your heart is totally broken.  I also know there was a third one but I don't recall seeing this baby's name.  I am so sorry for all these losses and words don't describe how sad I feel for you.

But balls of fur on loan is what the Lord gives to us in our pets.  And we love them with all our hearts until they are reclaimed.  Why three would be reclaimed so closely together is beyond comprehension.  Perhaps they are needed in eternity to work as a team.  Reasons are usually a mystery and we are left to go on faith.

As you grieve your losses, your babies' spirits will be in your presence and love is always undying.

It will get better for you in time though this may be hard to see right now.  Stay with people at Pet Loss to help you on this long journey of grief.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Hugs,

Rhoda (Maggie Rose's Mommy)
