Hi everyone,
Thanks for checking out this message for Colleen, Punkin, Elmo and Chloe's mom of angel babies and mom (on earth) for Parker, Atticus and Sammy.

Without giving any personal information, I am posting this for you all to include Colleen in your prayers for her to have improved health. Recently, her health has declined and she is coping as best she can with serious illness day to day. I have been speaking to her and encouraging her as best I can.

If you recall in years past, Colleen was the friend here who would always be right up the front to ask all of us for prayers for others, including myself when my dad was so ill this year. Thankfully, I believe due to prayer, my dad is still enjoying his days as best he is able.

She has contributed much to Petloss over the years with her amazing snow globes, other pictures for the Petloss cafe, her insightful messages and thoughtful comments to those coping with the grief of loss. Many consider Colleen a treasured friend here at Petloss, including me.

I really would love to be able to tell her when I next speak to her of the friends at Petloss who are sending her good wishes and prayers.

Thank you all, and my blessings to each of you. Of course, my prayers are including Colleen daily with hopes for a recovery.

Wendy (Decker's mom)

P.S. The details of her illness will not be mentioned here as I do not have Colleen's permission, nor will I be asking for it. If she is well enough to post, I will leave that to her to decided whether to post any details or not. Thank you for your understanding with this respect for Colleen's privacy.

Dear Colleen.....
I have just said a prayer for you.....I prayed for you to have strength and a very quick return to good health. You have helped so many hurting hearts here....and I was one of them you helped. You arranged the healing balloon release....and it was such a beautiful moment in time. One we all shared together.....no matter what part of the country we were in. Our hearts were all as one.
Again....I hope you feel all our hearts as one...as we send wishes, prayers, and healing energy your way. You will continue to be in my prayers!  Love and hugs to you from New England..........Tuckers Mum

Dear Wendydecker,

What a wonderful thing you have done here.  Please add me to the list of people praying for Colleen's health.

Colleen,

We have never met but I do know that I consider you part of my extended family, like all of the petloss people.  I thoughts and prayers are with you as you battle your illness.  I am praying for strength and healing to come your way like SpookyWolfe wrote "I pray that those blessings are returned to you by 100 times".  You are a special person to open your heart to the people here at petloss and give comfort to us that are inconsolable.  Please keep us updated on your healing progress because it would mean so much to the entire family here at petloss to know when you are feeling better and see another post from you.

All thoughts and good health wishes are coming your way.

Dearest Colleen,

My prayers and very good thoughts are also being sent to you my dear one.  I am sending intentions for the very best for you.

May all our combined prayers and good intentions surround and lift you, our beloved Colleen, to better health than you have had in a long time, and may it be possible for a full recovery.  May you be renewed and refreshed.

Colleen you are dearly loved!!!!!

Thank you Wendy for posting this, as I have not been very good in keeping touch.  She always makes me and others feel better, sharing beautiful words and images with us.

Colleen replies with the most beautiful and thoughtful posts, all like stories from her heart and they truly make you feel better.  I have been extremely blessed to have a received a precious globe from her and I look at it just about every single day.  Even before I officially ‘met’ her I always felt connected to her and her Orange Tabby Crew.

Precious Colleen, May the Orange Tabby Crew and all our bridgebabies watch over and help heal you, and our earthbabies send their loving energy to you, and your family here sends you love and healing thoughts too... hope to hear you are feeling better very soon.

My dear friend Wendy,

Thanks so much for asking for prayers and for being such a good friend. You cannot imagine how touched I am and how sweet this was of you to do. Thank you from the bottom of my grateful heart.

Much love,

Colleen

Barb, Tucker’s mom, Connie, Ruth, Barb (DrewTenderHeartWolf) Diane, Margaret, Anna, Mareike, Mags and Mary,

Thank you also from the bottom of my most grateful heart. I have been dealing with heart failure and dilated cardiomyopathy for just over 3 and ½ months. I still can’t do a lot and tire way too easily but I am learning how to deal with the limitations my heart has put on my life in terms of activities. The good news was in the cardiac cath (angiogram) I had when in hospital last week my heart pressures were better than they were with the last echo of my heart so they think this might have been caused by a virus which attacked my heart and that I am starting to recover.

I am thinking your kind prayers must have something to do with that and I am so very grateful to each of you. Your words were so very kind and I will always be indebted to each of you for your help along my grief journey and for being there when I needed help most. I am so very sorry that I have not been able to be here this past year but I am more grateful than my words can say for you being there for me now too.

There is a poem by Rosa Zagnoni Marinoni called “Who Are My People?” which makes me think of Petloss and of our Petloss family whenever I read it.

My people? Who are they?
I went into the church where the congregation
Worshiped my God. Were they my people?
I felt no kinship to them as they knelt there.

My people! Where are they?
I went into the land where I was born,
Where men spoke my language...
I was a stranger there.

"My people," my soul cried. "Who are my people?"

Last night in the rain I met an old man
Who spoke a language I do not speak,
Which marked him as one who does not know my God.

With apologetic smile he offered me
The shelter of his patched umbrella.
I met his eyes...

And then I knew…

Petloss is such a special place and the people here are very dear to my heart. Here the language of kindness is spoken always and this truly is the House of Love built by EdW for all of us.

With great gratitude and love always to each of you,

Colleen (Forever Mummy to The Orange Tabby Crew at The Bridge)

Dear Colleen-

I am so sorry that you are going through the heart issues you are. My younger brother, who is only 47, was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy over 4 years ago also from a virus that attacked his heart so I know a bit about what you are going through.

I will continue to keep you in my prayers and it is indeed a very good sign that your angiogram showed improvement.

Hi to all,
This is just to give a short update for you about Colleen as I'm sure many of you have been thinking and sending prayers her way.
Without going into any private details, I've been speaking to Colleen weekly and she's coping exceedingly well. Although you are aware of her condition as she explained on this thread, she's continued to be very pro-active when it comes to her health care. She's now pleased with the team who are looking after her and after a few more tests, she's been given a hopeful, positive outlook by several professionals on the team. I'm glad for that as 'hope' is just one of the most important parts of having an illness such as Colleen's.
Her three precious cats, Sammy, Atticus (the New York cat!) and Parker are all giving her the extra love as she's home a great deal resting and taking good care of herself.
I say prayers for her daily.
If you have a moment, do post a little message as they boost her spirits a lot.
Although she's not posting at Petloss anymore, she does spend a little time reading messages and remaining connected to a place where many friends still visit.
Thank you for each of your loving concerns and prayers for Colleen.

Dear Colleen...
It made me so happy tonight to read that you have had such positive feedback from your health care team! I am so glad that Parker,Atticus, and Sammy are giving you all their healing love and attention. There is something so very special about the love our animals give us....and I can only describe it as being "soothing to the soul". Exactly what you need when going through a health crisis.

I am getting excited for autumn and winter....my 2 favorite seasons! Somehow, when the weather is colder, I don't feel so guilty when I indulge in a very long novel and skip doing some chores!! I don't know if you enjoy reading...but I thought you might be reading since you are resting at home.  Sometimes when life gets tough it is nice to escape into a good book.

Please take good care of yourself Colleen....and you must never give up hope! One day at a time my friend....and when you are feeling weary...allow yourself to rest and lean on your friends here! Wendy has been so very kind to update us. Sending you a giant hug along with my prayers for good health......Tuckers Mum

Hi everyone,

I'm just posting this to ask for special prayers for Colleen on Tuesday, Oct. 14th. Without giving health details, she will be needing all your good thoughts as she is having a procedure that will hopefully assist her on her return to being healthier than she's been in months.

We chat weekly and I'll post a little follow-up after I hear that she is doing okay post-procedure. It's a rather serious one and it's certainly a worry for Colleen to face. Hopefully she'll be home again on the 15th.

Thank you for each of your prayers and good thoughts for her.

Wendy

a quick update for everyone,

Thank you for your prayers and I'm pleased to tell you that Colleen is safely home again today. I spoke to her earlier this morning (on the West Coast of Canada) and she is tired and quite sore but told me that I could mention what was done.
Colleen's mentioned in her own e-mails that she's had heart problems. Her heart rhythm problems necessitated an implantation of a defibrillator device with an additional feature of a pacemaker function also. A very scary procedure to endure but thankfully, Colleen was in anesthetic sleep. So, she's very, very grateful for being okay and now home again with her feline trio, Sammy and Atticus with Parker at the Vet's til Friday.
She's going to post when she's not quite as tired and is more painfree, but thanks everyone for their good thoughts. I thank you also.

Dearest Colleen,

I am thankful that your procedure went well and you are home resting.  It sounded scary- and you were in good hands. My arms send out gentle hugs your way and loving thoughts also being sent to you. Please know that you are often on my mind though these days I'm suddenly working too many hours :( but also grateful to be doing so, sort of.  May the purrs and kisses of your babies help in your healing.

May you feel better with each sunrise and rest well as the moon watches over us all across the miles.

(((((((((((((((( To my very dear Petloss family ))))))))))))))))

I am so very sorry to be so long in writing to thank you for your kind words of support and encouragement. They touch me deeply and mean the world to me. Little did we know, when we each found our heartbroken ways here the depth of friendships we would make and how blessed we each were to have found our way here. You truly are a family. And even though I have been unable to be here for almost the whole year, I am so grateful and touched by your unconditional and caring friendship.

It has been a tough, tough too long 8 months with too many hospital admissions and I thank you so much for remembering me and for your prayers and your many kindnesses. I still have a huge hematoma where my defibrillator is and I tire far too easily still but I am pleased to say I have been given the go-ahead finally to start a Cardiac Rehab program to help build up my endurance and stamina.  I also am in the process of moving to within 7 minutes of my sister who will help me with shopping, laundry, housework etc. (Who ever thought one would complain about not being able to vacuum. LOL)  Right now it is mostly pack a box, sleep a lot and pack another box and sleep some more. LOL  But I am hoping once I get moved and settled to be here more regularly in the New Year as my heart will always be here with each of you.

I think it was Ella Wheeler Wilcox who wrote: "So many gods, so many creeds, so many paths that wind and wind, while just the art of being kind is all the sad world needs." From the bottom of my most grateful heart, I thank you for your many kindnesses and all you have walked with me and I love you all.

May you each have a blessed and peaceful Happy Thanksgiving!

With much love and gratitude always,

Colleen (Forever Mummy of The Orange Tabby Crew at The Bridge)

Dearest Colleen,

I know this road has been fraught with difficulty and uncertainty, and my heart goes out to you.  Keep looking for the lights along the way, though - they are the hearts of all those who love you, sending you beacons of care and support.  (I'm the tall one with the skinny neck, surrounded by lots of little furry ones around my feet.)

It is so very good to read that you are making progress, and knowing that you will be closer to your sister is comforting for all of us.  With my own dear brother's illness, I can relate to your situation and am sure both you and your sister will rest easier once you are moved.

Keeping you always in my thoughts and prayers,

Barb

To my dear friend, Colleen,
I'm so glad that you were able to post on Petloss and that you feel the love and connection from everyone here who knows you.
As we've become friends, Canadians who are 5 provinces apart and 3,000 miles separate our homes from the West Coast to eastern Canada, I have so marvelled at your personal strength despite all the various health challenges that you've endured this year. Your kindness and generosity of spirit toward others, despite how you are feeling health-wise, never fails to fill me with admiration. I have to confess, I'm very cranky when I feel ill and never in our years of knowing each other through Petloss with e-mails and phone calls, have I ever seen anything other than your good-hearted, kind ways.
Also, despite your illness this year, you are still being such a good mom to your tabby family, Parker, Atticus (the New York cat!) and the senior Sammy. Your concern for each of them, despite being very ill yourself, never falters. You are diligent in taking them to the veterinarians when they need and give them each all the love that you possibly can. They are such lucky cats to have a mom like you.
You know that I wish you better health in the future. Days when the days of illness this year will fade in your memory.
Once you are moved, I'm sure that some of the stresses will vanish with your sister closer to you and that alone will improve your health.
My good wishes are always with you and your 'family' and especially for the move to your new home.
Blessings always to you and your angels, Punkin, Elmo and Chloe and your sweet ones at home now, Parker, Sammy and Atticus.

New prayers needed for Colleen,

Hi everyone,
I've been speaking to Colleen recently and I'm sorry to say that she is not doing well at all these past two weeks. Those of you who've contributed to this thread will be aware that her health concerns are very serious and daunting day to day. Over this past year, it's been a great comfort to know that her friends here at Petloss are including her in their caring thoughts and prayers for better days ahead.
If you wish to contribute a litle hello to her, maybe a story to bring a smile to her day, I'm sure she'd appreciate that. There is a chance that this week, she'll again be admitted to hospital for a thorough check and perhaps some new solutions to her heart and health concerns will be found.
I pray so.
Thank you for your replies to this new message, it will be greatly appreciated by Colleen.
Blessings to you and your special angels,
Wendy (Decker's mom)

Dear Colleen-

I am so sorry to hear that you are not doing well. I understand what you are going through as my baby brother has been dealing with alot of the same things as you for the past 5 years. I can tell you what I tell him and that is to take each day as it comes and to let your family and friends help you through it by leaning on them as much as you can. I will continue to pray that you will be feeling better soon and that the doctors will be able to come up with a better course of treatment for you.

God bless you and keep you.

Best regards.

Hello everyone,
As you are aware, Colleen has recently been very ill. She was admitted to hospital last Monday and is being tested and monitored carefully. It is a very stressful, scary time for her, I'm sure.
Therefore, those of you who hold her close in your heart, I would ask you to continue your healing prayers. Hopefully, sometime in the future days, she will indeed begin to renew her energy and thoughts of the future holding better health.
Thank you for posting your kind thoughts. I do know that when at home, your words are a great comfort to her.
I speak to her weekly and on Friday, she called me from the hospital to give me the recent news of her admission to hospital.
Again, my blessings to each of you for your friendship to both Colleen and myself. I live over 3,000 miles away from Colleen's home and there truly is so little that I can do for her. This thread has meant a lot to Colleen, so I do hope that I can help it continue as Petloss means so much to her.

Hi Everyone,
Sorry not to just let you all know that our dear friend, Colleen is now home from the hospital and feeling just a little better. I'm sure that all your prayers were heard! Perhaps when she is feeling even better, she'll be able to visit Petloss once again, as I know she misses each of you.
Thanks again for your caring concern,
Blessings,
Wendy (Decker's mom)
