Tonight I am asking all my Petloss friends to offer their prayers that we can get Bandit. She is the last of the feral cats we have been trying to get as we have moved. She will have a life indoors, and be well taken care of. I do not want to leave her out there alone without her mom and her brother. We are working on getting them more used to us, and we would like to offer the same chance we are giving them. We are running out of time, as the landlord of the place we moved to will probably be renting this place out soon. He is allowing us to do this for now, try to catch her, but, I feel we only have a week, to a week and a half before he will tell us we can no longer try to trap her. I just need all the prayers I can get for a success on giving this baby a better life. She is family to us, and we have taken care of her since she was little. Thank you all in advance.

For those that have prayed for our success in bringing this last baby home, I thank you. Finally I was able to get Bandit tonight, and tomorrow will be a visit to the vet for shots, bloodwork, and a checkup.

It took a lot of nights just sitting there, and I ended up having to get a leg from KFC, which is a place I will not eat at, in order to get here. She about gave the vet a heart attack. They had her sedated, and had everything done, and she wakes up and starts climbing the walls. We have songs for all our cats, and decided hers is going to be dynamite from Peggy Sue, or TNT from ACDC. She is so very small, at only 6 and a half pounds. She looks like a half grown kitten. And after she had done that at the vets, they ask me, "Do you think you could get eye drops in her one eye?", I looked at the vet like they was stupid, and said, "UGH, no" . But, luckily it isn't really neccessary, and we can monitir it. I think she may have gotten a scratch, which irritated it, or have allergies, and being inside will help with that. Right now, we need to earn her trust again.

That is such good news about Bandit! And LOL about her spirit - TNT from ACDC would probably do the trick. :-)

Back when my parents sold the house I grew up in and my mom had to move into a new place to live, she kept coming back to the house to feed a colony of feral cats. That was back in the day before TNR and all that great stuff. My mom was able to tame 2 of the cats enough to bring into her home, but she kept going back to our old house every single day to feed the cats, even in the hottest parts of the summer and the coldest parts of the winter.

I often wonder what happened to the cats that were still in the colony after my mom passed away. I know there are some people in that neighborhood who have done TNR in the last decade or so, so there probably aren't any ferals there anymore. But your posts about how you have cared for the kitties in your old neighborhood and how you have brought them to your new place reminded me so much of my mother and how much she cared for and loved those cats that lived in my childhood neighborhood...

When my parents had bought a house, the people that sold it had a barnful of cats. Luckily we were able to find a place for all of them, except one. When we thought we had a place for him, he always came back, so we dedicated the song, "The Cat Came Back" to him. He was an old gray tom cat, and we called him Old Tom. He just stayed, and we made sure he had food, but, he would disappear every so often for a week or so, so we figured he went somewhere else to eat also.
