My heart is breaking as our family has decided to re-home our youngest cat. After a year of trying to successfully reintroduce our new kitty to our other cats we cannot get her to stop marking. We've worked with a behaviorist, our vet, and have spent a lot of money and time. This simply isn't the right home for her. She is aggressive with our cats, and sometimes our children. She has been wonderful with adults. If life had been different I would keep trying, but in addition to my teen daughter and myself having chronic fatigue and pain my dh and mother(who lives in an attached apartment) have recently had huge medical problems. All our friends say that we have been more than generous in time and money, but we have been given guilt trips and judgement from animal organizations. This won't change my decision, but it makes my guilt much worse. I've already dealt with my DD crying herself to sleep. I'd appreciate some comforting words.
