Stan and Thomas were best friends.  Stan left 5 years ago on March 22 and today is Thomas's 2 year Bridge day.  Stan lost the use of his back legs a few years before he left and Thomas was his guardian. One day I had to keep Stan separated from all the other kitties due to a medical reason so I put him in a room with bi-fold doors.  I was only gone a couple of hours and I came home to the doors off the hinges and Thomas laying with Stan in his bed.  Thomas was a BIG boy and he wanted to be with Stan so he just made his way in.  I miss you both so much.  I will love you forever and some day I will be with you and all the other kitties and dogs who are waiting at the Bridge.

I carry you in my heart so we are never apart.

Joann, what a wonderful memory of Stan and Thomas, a true testament of how love will move mountains (in this case doors, LOL) to keep loved ones together.

I'm so sorry you have so many RB Days to remember. I guess what I mean is I am so sorry for all of the heartbreak you have gone through as your loved ones have passed away through the years. Thinking of you today as you remember Stan and Thomas and the love the three of you shared...

Thanks for making me laugh about not moving a mountain but doors!  They were quite a team and kept laughing at the things they did.

JoAnn, I lost two dogs this past  year, they were brothers. Ernie died six months after his big brother Peety - they were both a little over 13 years old. I loved them so much. It has been almost 9 months since the second one passed, they both were doing very well for older dogs, and before Peety died, I wasn't even thinking the end was near for either. I thought they were both going to live another couple of years.. I am having a hard time accepting that they had to die at all, I know that sounds ridiculous, of course I knew that, but my heart just won't accept it.

Thanks for your little saying at the end there, 'I carry you in my heart so we are never apart" -- I am gong to make that my mantra for the rough moments.
