I want to start by saying I'm a college student that goes to school about an hour and 40 minutes away from home. I came home this weekend to get the shock of my life. On Monday, our Westie, Jenni, she started having problems breathing and my mom rushed her to the vet but by the time she got there she was pretty much gone. I only found out yesterday. I had so much trouble sleeping last night. Jenni always slept with me. The house is so quiet. There are times when my mom and my sister and I are goofing around and my mom starts tickiling me and I call out for her, only to remember she's gone. I didn't even get a chance to say goodbye. My mom, my sister and I miss her terribly. I do have a question: what if a pet has more than one person that loved them, like Jenni for example? Will she be with my mom when I die? Or will she be waiting for me across the Rainbow Bridge?  I really don't know what else to say. I love you Jenni! Thank you for the wonderful six years that you gave us!

I am very sorry for the loss of your precious Jenni Mak.  She sounds like a very sweet dog and I know how much you're going to miss her.  Your question is interesting about the rainbow bridge.  I believe that Jenni will go with the first family member that leaves this earth.  They are looking for that familiar face and they're off and running.  Can you imagine how sweet it will be to spend all of eternity with our precious little ones?    Jenni was so young yet and I know her loss is very hard on you and your family. I will keep you in my prayers.

If Heaven is perfection then why can she not meet each of you?

THE BROKEN CHAIN
We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name,
In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone,
For part of us went with you, the day God called you home.

You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide,
And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

I am so, so sorry you and your family have lost your beautiful Westie, Jenni Mak. It is so terribly painful when a beloved pet suddenly and unexpectedly passes.  It sounds like you and she shared a very special bond, so I know your heart is broken.  I am sure she felt your love as she passed and carried it with her to the Bridge.  Regarding your question: I think it is entirely possible that Jenni will meet each one of you at the threshold of the Bridge when it is your time to pass.  After all, anything and everything is possible in heaven!

Sending hugs and prayers,
Melissa

Sad to hear of your Jenni .Death is and always will be a mystery for those of us  here on Earth. What we do have is faith and if you believe and want to have Jenni greet you on that day then I believe that God would send her no matter where she was to walk with you....Until then she lives in your heart along with all the wonderful journeys & memories you shared along the way.

Sending my deepest sympathy at the loss of your dear little Westie  - Jenni Mak - she was such a young little dog  - we expect them to be around for a long time but sadly that does not always happen.
Since you are still a student I guess you did a lot of growing up with Jenni, both young together I expect you had some really good and fun times. Those are the times you must try to remember, all the love and joy she bought to you and your family. A happy little soul. She will meet you again at the rainbow bridge, that is for sure.  What a lovely poem  Ghattenwolf sent you, I had not heard it before and think is just so true - the chain will link again and we will be reunited with those that we love.

God Bless little West Highland Terrier Jenni-Mak loved forever by her family.

Your loss is so new yet and I know how hard it is living without your pet.  You miss seeing their sweet little face every morning.  The first two months are pretty tough times for everyone.  You would give anything to see your fur baby again....just to watch them eat, sleep.....you name it!   My boy has been gone for 15 months and I think about him so much yet.  Our precious pets were the loves of our life. You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm so sorry. I know how you feel. I recently lost my beautiful cat who was 17 on October 17th, 2009. Your furry baby & everyone you love who has passed before you will greet you when it is your time so don't worry. In time you will begin to feel better. Our furry babies are always with us and in our hearts....our bond with them will never break. In time you will begin to remember all the wonderful times you had with your pup and the sadness will lessen. ((HUGS))

The folks on these message boards share or have shared similar feelings of great sadness and loss over a special and precious pet.
Time will slowly heal you and remember that love never dies and she, your little Jenni will stay in your heart and you memories always.

Four weeks without your precious Jenni.  I know the days have been very difficult for you.  I know you miss seeing her sweet little face every morning.  There are so many things that we miss once our precious little ones have passed on.  I used to sit quietly and watch my bunny boy doing his usual bunny things and it warmed my heart.  Our pets were true blessings in our lives.

You and your family are in my prayers. I do believe Jenni will rush to meet everyone she loved so dearly. Four weeks later she is still looking down with love with a wag in her tail with much love for you and your family!

Dearest rykes,

I am so sorry for the loss of your father, but I am so happy that Jenni Mak Brewster was there to greet him!  You dear child have a sweet and thoughtful heart!  I really liked what Ghatten replied to you in her post after Jenni Mak passed and you asked about who she would go with if more than 1 person loved her!  Heaven is perfection...and I have no doubt that she will greet each of you when the time comes!  Until then hold her memory in your heart as she holds each of you in hers!

God Bless You.
