The saga of Rex began in Alaska and ended in Shelby, Montana. He, along with at least 200 other dogs were found in a semi trailer, as the owners of the dogs attempted to cross the US border in 2003.

Camp Collie, the nickname for the rescue site was estabished in Shelby and moved to Great Falls. It is here, that Silver, Hershey and Mozart met the collies.

Rex was adopted by Joe and Terry Fox. he had five beautiful years with his family. On friday night, he suffered a heart attack and was found on the patio deck of his home. Both his parents are crushed. Please say prayers for the Fox family.

Rexie, Hershey and Betsy were there at the bridge to greet you. Hershey had bunbun waiting and even sent your mom word that you had arrived safe and well.

Rexie, you were rescued and loved. You will live in the hearts of all who helped rescue you and all the other Camp Collie Collies.

Sweet dreams and have a fun time at the Bridge with all your new friends.

I'm so sad for the family at the loss of wonderful Rex.  It's so sad that 100 babies were found in the semi, but so wonderful that you helped them find homes.  I know that Rex's family is absolutely heartbroken.  It is truly heartwarming that he found his forever home that was full of love.  I know that Rex took all the love and beautiful memories of his forever home with him to the bridge to keep him company until he is again reunited with his forever family.  Huge hugs, Golda's Mom

Aw, Auntie Meriam, I am so sorry about Rex, he will always have a special place in your heart.  I will keep the Fox family in thought and prayer and may they will feel Rex close by.

That is horrible having all those dogs in a trailer.  I am so glad they were rescued and that Rex have a wonderful furever family to love from the bridge.

Tweeny will put frosting on that bunbun to make it extra tasty for Rex.

Peaceful Journey, Precious Rex!

Dear Meri,

I am so very sorry to hear that Joe and Terry's precious Collie, Rex, has passed away so suddenly and unexpectedly.   Please extend to them my heartfelt condolences.   I know you and your precious boyz are also affected by the loss of Rexie.   You and the boyz have been through a lot, losing Hersh last winter, and now this.  I just know Hersh and Betts met Rex at the threshold of the Bridge and are making sure he is fussed over.

Meri, I will be thinking of you, and saying some prayers for Joe and Terry.  May their hearts be comforted by their wonderful memories of Rex.   Bless them for giving him such a good life.    He passed to the Bridge knowing full well that he was/is deeply loved.

Sending big Texas hugs all the way to Big Sky Country,

Melissa

To Goldas mom and Tweenys Mom.

Wwe extend thanks on behalf of the Fox family. Rex had to fur sisters, Daisy and Dolly. Dolly has only three legs, but acts just like a puppy.

Daisy is looking in all of the holes Rex dug in the yard for her brother. She dragged Kuggel all over the yard today to show him the holes. Silver and Mozie stayed close to Dolly. Terry just called to say that the girls fell asleep, with kitty Emmy curled up nearby.

Thank you for your kind words,

Auntie meriam and cousins Silver, Mozart and baby Kuggel

Melissa,

Thanking you on behalf of the Fox family. We all had a soggy day and tonight it is chilly with snow on the way.

I am sure that Hersh, Betts and rex have had a lovely day with Sophie Esther. She is the Grand Dame of Coliiedom at the Bridge. When she looks down that long, regal Collie snout, everyone pays attention.

Sending wishes , slurps and hugs to the Lone Star State,

Meri, Sil, Moz and Kugs

Meri,

I don't know how you ALWAYS manage to make me chuckle while I am in tears.   Sophie Esther with her long, regal Collie snout.....I can just see her!!

You are an angel of mercy.  Bless you and thank you.  I needed to smile.

Many big hugs to the boyz and you,

Melissa

Hellon HelenY,

The boyz and i spent a few hours with the Fox family today. it was pouring and cold, to the point where we had to turn the heat back on in the house.

Rexie was creamated and his ashes are to be scattered with his fur cat brother Sabastian as soon as the weather here in Montana allows. Hersheys ashes are going to be scattered at lake McDonald in Glacier national Park and some are going to remain here at the house with us.

Thanking you for the kind post.

Please be well,

Meriam, Silver, Mozart and Kuggel
