i had to put my beloved cat, samantha down last saturday and today i went to put up her ashes. samantha was so sweet and loving, always taking care of my other cats. 2 1/2 years ago i had to put my other beloved cat, jenny down from cancer, that is what samantha had. i cried for a  very long time. i just had my son a month before, so i had alot of alone time to sit a cry. when samantha passed away. i cried at the vets' office and on the way home. and the day after, but that was it. i think i am afraid to start crying, because then i won't stop. has anyone of you cried for one cat more then the other. i love them both the same. and i feel so bad that i am not crying more for samantha.

Nola,

I'm very sorry you've lost your Samantha. She sounds beautiful and loving,
what a good mother she was to your other cats.  I'm sure you miss her a lot.
I think the crying has to do with how close of a bond we had with
our babies, and the thoughts & memories we have of them. Maybe
Jenny was your first cat or you had her longer, and you remember
the pain as being more intense. Tomorrow will be 3 months that
my precious boy has been gone and I can tell you I still cry over
him every day, sometimes more than once. He was my everything.
I loved him so much and my heart is absolutely broken. I don't
expect to ever stop crying over him.

Dear Nola
I dont think that we can measure our grief by how much crying we do, sometimes it just doesnt happen.  It doesnt mean that you loved your little Samantha any less.  Thinking of you.  Much Love, Di xxx
