I can't help it...I cry every time I hear this song on the radio...not only does it keep saying Shadow over and over, its such a depressing & pretty song
, and when I listen to it I think about him and about how I'm never going to be the same again & there's a huge missing space in my life...this sux! SHADOW of the Day by linkin park I close both locks below the window. I close both blinds and turn away. Sometimes solutions aren't so simple. Sometimes goodbye's the only way. And the sun will set for you, The sun will set for you. And the shadow of the day, Will embrace the world in grey, And the sun will set for you. Pink cards and flowers on your window, Your friends all plead for you to stay. Sometimes beginnings aren't so simple. Sometimes goodbye's the only way. And the sun will set for you, The sun will set for you. And the shadow of the day, Will embrace the world in grey, And the sun will set for you. And the shadow of the day, Will embrace the world in grey, And the sun will set for you. [Guitar solo] And the shadow of the day, Will embrace the world in grey, And the sun will set for you.

BTW- let me introduce you to Shadow's older brother Biggins (7)- he's my daughter's buddy. (He's just fine and dandy, and fat and feisty :)
This is him with his adopted daughter Rosie(4 she's our youngest)....its weird cause he loves kittens:) This is a litter we rescued from certain death on our busy road. These are Shadow's nieces and nephew. Two of them have homes elsewhere now...but we kept the lighter tortie her name is Widget and she's 5 and the yellow girl Daisy5 just thought I'd introduce you to some other members of the family:) Those wild cats outside our house just kept on having kitten and we just kept on bringing them in... We found homes for 20we have 8(Pepper13, Hunter13, Anna 5.5, Charlotte 5.5, Widget5, Daisy5, Biggins 7 and Rosie 4 )-in the order we got them Shadow 6.5 who was always my favorite by far, But all that stopped after we moved...we did manage to trap and spay the only breeding mother that was left just before we moved. (Not Shadow mom, she was killed in the road :( That kind of made me sad though cause those cats that family produced were so pretty and funny. But cats and kittens killed in the road made me sadder so it had to be done..... Shadow's mama Elizabeth

What sweet babies! And obviously so content and well-cared for! And...what a hauntingly pretty song. It is just amazing what can stir up our feelings and our grief, isn't it? I am sending you hugs.

I know how certain songs can really get to you.
Cheese and I always used to listen to music together; we had certain songs that I would always "dedicate" to Cheesey and sing to him - but "our song" was Home by Daughtry. I even had a sign from Cheese through that song; if you get a chance read my post: "A Sign From Cheeseburger?" posted on May 23rd 2008. All of your kitties are absolutely beautiful. Thank you for posting the pictures. Bless them all, and I hope Cheesey and your precious Shadow found one another and they are now friends. Elizabeth, your kitties are simply beautiful!! Thank you for sharing such lovely photos with all of us.
I know how certain songs can set off our grieving. I was watching the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou?" tonight and, at near the end they sing a verse of "You Are My Sunshine" which was the song I sang increasingly more to Betsy as she grew more frail. I thought I was going to lose it, but I just held a beautiful thought of her in my mind, and I was okay. Your kitties are so blessed to have such a wonderful furmom, and you are equally blessed by their presence in your life. May memories of your beloved Shadow bring peace and comfort to your heart. Hugs, Melissa Betsy's loving forever mom

Shadows mom, I too like the rest of the folks here have songs that are reminders of my pretty little girl Yngwie. One is an older one by Little Feat (with Lowell George). I won't write all the lyrics here but its just one guitar and the lyrics: Missing you...I'm missing you All those lovely things you do Tell you the truth, hurts the way I'm missing you... Another is a song that was covered by Savoy Brown. It is slow and bluesy and a good one to cry to. The only lyrics important to me are: You've gone away, I'll get by somehow, But, right now All I can do is cry All I can do is cry... I have both on vinyl and get to cry and remember all I want. Been very therapeutic. Your other kitties are sooo precious Jennifer Yngwie's mom
