I would like to share my Mejara's nicknames. My favorite 2 were : honeygirl & Missy, babygirl, & Whiner( she did this whining thing when she saw something of interest & wanted to go see ) She loved me to kiss her between her eyes; & when I pampered her, telling her how pretty she was, she ate it up.she would relax her ears, gently lick & lightly smack her lips & roll her eyes upward.... she loved this " her special alone time", for Mejara & Montana were always"argueing" who got mommies attention. Montana would push her out of the way, he was bigger, but she would snarl as she walked away & watching( I could see her feelings were hurt) how I would cherish the moment to whisper her favorite words in her ear now. It will be 2 years this August 30th, & it still feels as though she crossed over yesterday. I love & miss her ever so. Thank God Montana is still here with me, yet I know I will need you all & this support site in the near future, for Montana will be 10 years old in July 26, a good old age for a rottweiler. My 1st rott, Megan lived to be nearly 13, I had to put her down-cancer. She fought me, she didn't want to go yet. I made a mistake there, I listened to people instead of her. Well enough for now. I hope you all enjoy the post on Mejara & the picture. bye CAK

Love this!  One of the previous posters mentioned how nice it would be to say again the lovey names that we haven't said in a long time.
My Poubelle was a beautiful black cat with plenty of attitude!  (He actually had some nicknames that I can't post here due to language!!)

Poub, Pooby, Pooby-Doober, Doosbutt, Pooptuckus, Doober, Doob, Mommas boy, handsome, Maam's boy (this one came from a certain meow he had that I will insist to my dying day was him trying to say "Mom"...and the meow sounded like "ma'am"!)
My mother-in-law used to call him "viel malevenant" (not sure of spelling here) but it is French for "old evil one"...he used to bite her whenever he saw her...he was such a SMART boy!!!LOL

I am smiling now, remembering my Poub.
Thanks, I needed that!
Laurien
PS You should hear the list of nicknames my surviving cat and dog have!!

When my sister called me and told me about a little black kitten at her Vet's office that was looking for a home(this July 22nd would have been 16 years) I went there to check her out and fell totally and completely in love with her,and fell under her spell. I named her Midnite and took her home that afternoon. Some time in the next few days I began to call her "Little Face". I don't know where or how, just the tiny little face that she had,I guess. It was a nickname that just seemed to fit,and I called her that all her life. After she passed, I had her creamated, bought a nice brass Urn, and had Midnite(Little Face) engraved on it,along with the dates she came into my life, and physically left me. Spiritually, she will alwys be with me. She will always be My Darling Little Midnite, My Precious Little Face. Thank you for letting me share this with you. Always,Donald

This may sound kind of off the wall and not very loving, but my Noah's nickname was "Skunk". He was a beautiful black and white cat and for some reason, Skunk just stuck. He would respond to it! It was cute!

I think I am well enough now to go through some of the wonderful 'pet names' we gave my Mobley Joseph -without losing it too badly.

Since he was a 140 lb. Newfoundland/Rottie mix, my favorite was Monster Puppy.  (I think that was his favorite too)
MoJo
MoMoJoJo
MoJo Beastie Boy
Monster Baby
Black face of terror (remember he was 140 lbs....)
Mister Big stuff
Mr. Bunny lover (he used to watch them out the front door)
Mobley Jobley
Truck Puppy
Moose
Mr. Moose man
Moms luv pup

There are probably lots more of my favorites that I cannot think of right now.  He knows them, and I know them.  That is what counts.  :-)

This was really fun, thanks for bumping this up!!  TWP (Mo's mama)

Dexter was Bubba because he was the big brother, or sometimes Angelboy. Cameron is also Bubba, or Bubby-Tater, or Tater-Boo, or Tammer.

I have been so thankful for these last 14 months with Cameron after the loss of his brother. It is bittersweet that we are drawing to a close, but he has been dearly, dearly loved and will go to be with Dexter soon. I hope there's a good spot for them to play King of the Mountain on.

What a great idea!! I was always changing my little Iris' name. One time, she got sick and wouldnt go to the bathroom. She was given a shot to help her out. She had some weird infection. I remember that day, she was really mean and angry with everyone. The doctor had to put her on a body restrainer to keep her from moving. She could be such a mean kitty. It was a horrible day since my baby was sick but it was one of the funniest things a few seconds after the shot took effect. She pooped in the body restrainer and the table. My boyfriend, the two doctors and myself looked at each other and then at her. She was making a face that I will never forget it was as if she was saying "OH MY GOD! I am sooooo EMBARRASSED!!" it was such a beautiful moment. I knew from then on she would be fine.
From that day forward, I named her Mr. Leaky-Bottoms. I always thought adding "Mr." to all of the names I would call her sounded cuter. So Mr. Leaky-Bottoms was born.

I miss you baby

Iris August 8, 2000 to September 19, 2007....even that dog couldnt help wanting you. Forgive him.

When I first married my wife and she met friends of mine and found out that they had given their pets numerous names she couldn't understand it. Now thirty-six years and five dogs later she is as bad as the rest of us.

I think her favorite is when my little female shiba Zoe had surgery on her rear leg and was shaved on just the one rear side I began calling her
Princess half-moon.

Our little Tremor who went to rest ten days ago was named Tremor since his litters registered name was aftershock due to the fact they were born during an earthquake. So what else was I to do but call him Shaky Jake!

Thanks for the great thread!
