Hi
I can't stop crying....I hate myself right now.....

As i was leaving today i noticed my kitty laying in the rain...He seemed somewhat listless ..Just set when i brought him in....

I thought he would probably be ok so i ran to wal mart ..when i got back he started jerking so i rushed him to the vet ..she said he probably wouldn't make it because it was neurological and looked like rabies.....

she sent me to an emergency vet but my poor kitty died on the way over..My  fault for waiting to long and letting him go outside

I started crying on the way to the vet and I haven't quit...He scratched me..not sure if he bit so part of him goes to little rock to check for rabies...It was my choice and i feel terrible having him decapitated and right now i wish i would have died with him

I'm so sorry Tom.  But it's not your fault. I think we all let our kitties go outside.  I know I do.  It's the most fun they have in life.  I'm certain there is no cure for rabies, so you don't need to feel that you waited too long.  There was nothing that you could do except what you did do - care for him and stay with him at the end.  Please don't feel terrible about the procedure.  Their bodies are just a shell.  I felt the same way after I had my little one cremated. But it's alright.  They're running in heaven now and forever.

Tom - I am so sorry for the sudden loss of your dear cat.  It's so hard when they are fine one day and very ill the next.  It's a part of the grieving process to put blame on ourselves.  You know in your heart that your cat was very important to you and you always took care of his needs.  Sad things happen to our pets, unfortunately.  Your little one has joined all of our babies at the bridge and he was welcomed with love unending.

I am so sorry for your heartbreaking loss. We all give our pets freedoms that put them at risk, but you know you would never intentionally put them in risk of serious harm. Cats love to roam.  You gave your beloved kitty a wonderful life and he loves you for it. I hope your heart soon begins to heal.
