at least here it is. The evening is starting to have that smell of the blossoms in the air. I won't be taking evening walks with my girl this year or ever.

It hit me hard a few minutes ago. I mean I literally had a vision or flashback to the two of us walking at the college and her stepping down off of the curb to walk back to the car after our walk was done.

Its been two months and five days since she's been gone. Seems way longer than that. No spring walks.

I understand. With Blackie and Squeeker, the spring meant no more walks with them either. They liked to go for walks through the townhouse complex (Blackie) and through the neighborhood (Squeeker). They're the only cats I've had that would actually like it when I put their harness on and we would go out for a walk.

I don't have any other cats left that like to go for walks. The ones I have are either too scared to go outdoors on a harness or will simply go outside in my back yard and hang out. I'll definitely miss going for walks with my Squeeker...

The onset of every spring reminds me of Blackie's passing (in late March over 9 years ago), and I suspect Memorial Day weekend will now remind me of Squeeker's passing. Hard to believe it has been over 9 years since Blackie passed away. It will be a year at the end of May for Squeeker's passing. That is only a bit over 3 months from now and it was March 1 last year that we got his cancer diagnosis...so much has happened since then, hard to believe it was almost a year ago that Squeeker & I began the last chapter in our journey together. At this time last year he was a happy, health boy. Or at least that's what we thought...
