My beloved dog Tanner passed in my arms on October 23/17..I chose to have her transition at home while in her final stages of kidney failure..she was 13 yrs old..I've had her cremated and she is home with me as I promised her..I stayed up three whole days and sang and spoke with her and I knew the moment before she passed that they truly understand..you see for three days I would take her law and place it on my heart and tell her she will always be safe with me..I did this repeatedly..I kid you not..moments before her passing my baby girl managed to lift her paw and place it on my heart as she took her last breath..how can I go on ..she was my world and and my co-pilot and I'm so lost ..I miss her so much ..xo

Tanner died as she lived, wrapped tight in the arms of someone who loved her to the ends of the earth.  It's these memories that she takes with her while it's you left to feel the pain of her passing.  She does NOT share this pain, and even in the darkest of moments that's worth holding on to.  All she knows is that she had the peace and dignity of an ending her illness would have never allowed her to have without your help.  Hold tight, take a deep breath, and KNOW that Tanner's love did not die with her - you get to keep that forever.  My heart breaks for you - I can feel the love you have for her in every word you write.
