Some of you know me by the posts I have done as I have come to know you by yours. You know that I am here because of our loss of Peaches our Chihuahua and many of you have provide encouraging and thoughtful posts that have helped us. My posts as you know are more towards the K-9 perspective and I know that many out there and some of you who have responded to me are grieving over your loss not of a dog but for your cat soul mate. I came across the following and would like to share it with those of you who are missing that special soul mate in your lives and to say thank you and hopefully this may bring a little comfort into your lives as your heartfelt post did for me.......
Poem for cats By Author Unknown
And God asked the feline spirit
Are you ready to come home? Oh, yes, quite so, replied the precious soul And, as a cat, you know I am most able To decide anything for myself. Are you coming then? asked God. Soon, replied the whiskered angel But I must come slowly For my human friends are troubled For you see, they need me, quite certainly. But don't they understand? asked God That you'll never leave them? That your souls are intertwined. For all eternity? That nothing is created or destroyed? It just is....forever and ever and ever. Eventually they will understand, Replied the glorious cat For I will whisper into their hearts That I am always with them I just am....forever and ever and ever.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND MAY YOU FIND SOME PEACE AND COMFORT IN YOUR LIVES.----------------Jerry in Oklahoma.

Thank you so much. It's been two weeks for Smokey and 2 1/2 years for Sam and I think I am more sad then ever. The poem is wonderful and thank you for thinking of us feline lovers! Marsha (Smokey & Samantha's forever mom)

This is just wonderful! Having been a mom to cats as well as dogs in my younger years, I love the way the author states that as a cat, he is able to decide anything for himself. Doesn't that describe a cat's attitude and bearing!!
God bless you and Gwen.

Thank you so much for the wonderful poem! It does help. I'll miss Houdini forever -- the sweetest and darlingest cat. It's been four (almost five) months since he's gone and the hurt is worse than ever. So, Jerry -- thank you for understanding.
