They put GPS's on several domesticated cats in England (where they apparently do not believe that domesticated cats are indoor animals) and tracked them for awhile. Interesting stuff...

Thanks for posting this article Jason.  What a clever idea. It would be interesting to know how the cat's families reacted on discovering the extent of their secret outings.

Thanks, Jason!
My Julian's allowed to go outside, but if there'd been a GPS tracker on him, it wouldn't have moved for 16 hours, and then he rarely leaves our 50 X 100 foot lot. Sometimes in the winter he doesn't go outside for 2-3 days at a time.   Those are travelling cats in the UK.  And I noticed how none of those cats walked on a street except to cross it; they walked along side of the road, and a number of them made 90 degree turns following roads.

Oh I watched this, too! It was really interesting! The GPS bit got me, especially the one cat that covered like what 11 gardens or something big like that. I have always wanted to put little cameras on our kitties to see where they go. I never expected cats to really wander that far but I guess sometimes they do! Thank you for sharing :)

Much Love,
