Just had to bring this back up...If you are new here, or have read this before in '09, this is one of my favorite stories from Meriam and her Doxie's...  Enjoy!

Feb 2009 -
Oh, golly, gee, There was an escape from the back pasture this afternoon. Mother Nature was huffing and puffing and she sprung the back gate of the pasture open. Lola, our mother Llama and her twins took off and a fast trot. They wanted to see what was on the other side of the mountains. All they really could see was us with mom at the wheel of the old pickup trying to chase them down. Yikes, we hit a drift and the snow clogged the front grill. So mom had to stop and dig the truck out, we did not slide down into the gully. We watched the Llamas disappear down into the Canyon which fronts the interstate. Moms cell phone was not working, but the air national guard was out in choppers and saw the Llamas heading for the Interstate. They managed to turn them onto some forest service land and away from the road. Then help showed up, the forest service rangers had air rifles and when they hear those, they turned back toward mom. The only trouble with the air rifle was that Kuggy got scared and piddled in the truck. Then when mom went to get back in, Mozie had locked the doors by leaning on the locks. So then we were in and mom was out, but it is an old truck and as luck would have it, the side vents were open and mom wiggled one free and got her hand in so she could open the door. As soon as the door opened, Kuggy got out and fell in a drift. So now we had to dig him free. Meanwhile the Llamas were noshing on our neighbors hay bales and spitting at the forest service rangers. it took two hours to get them back into the barn. Then mom discovered Kuggy's oops and had to clean that up/ We are all at home and just relaxing now in front of the fire. Kuggy is in big trouble and mom is not talking to him for a bit. Mozie and I are just ignoring the little twerp for now. We will create more adventures tonight.     Silver the bros and Mom

How many people could ever say all these words in one paragraph...
Llamas, twins, mountains, interstate, snow clogged front grill, dug truck from snowbank, locked out, cell phone not working, dugout Doxie in snowdrift, spitting, Air National Guard, Rangers, air riffles and last but not least, .....piddle. Only Meriam!

Love to All - Sandie
