Im a very animal loving person and if i were to save myself or an animal id have to chose the animal. Ive had many pets growing up but last year for my brithday i got a syrian hamster as my sister had one and i was jealous. I named it Timmy after my nans cat and i spent a lot of ny time with him. I was always checking up on him and making sure he was comfortable. I loved him with all my heart. But just today he died. I went to check up on him as he hadnt drank his water in a few days so i was already worried, and when i looked for him he was just still. I quickly checked if he were breathing but saw no obvious signs. My mom put him in an old box for now and im still trying to figure out the nicest way possible to put him in. But i havent stopped crying and its been a good 4 hours. I just feel empty and like i cant carry on as whenever i was having a bad day i would just look at him and smile but now just knowing that i wont see him again makes me start crying again. I am saying this because i really dont know how to numb the pain and i would really love to know if anyone else has had this and what you have done to ease the pain.

I’m sorry your post was missed. I’m so sorry for your loss. Timmy was very lucky to have you. You obviously loved Timmy very much and it’s so hard to lose a beloved pet. Big or small, they fill our hearts with love and joy. I hope you are ok.
