My Dearest Zoey,

What could I ever say about you that would even begin to explain what you mean to me? There aren’t words out there to do it justice. For the past 8 years you have given me undeniable joy, love, compassion and comfort. I know for a fact, had you not come into my life, I would not be who I am today. You taught me how to give and receive unconditional love. Something no person could ever do. You were there through all the hard times in my life as well as all the beautiful, joyous days. You never left my side through it all, and you made everything better by just being you! The world is a cruel and unfair place to have taken you way too soon. I would literally give anything to see your cute little face, wagging tail and beautiful soul for even one more day. People may never understand the love of a faithful companion and for that I am so, so sad. As broken as my heart is right now, I will forever be grateful for the time I was blessed to be with you. You have been and will continue to be the happiest of my days. Our memories are etched in my heart and have brought enough joy to last a lifetime. Until we meet again, my sweet angel. Mommy loves you today and for always ❤️

For the love of an animal ! Grief is the price we pay for love. Would you choose not to have had the unconditional devotion of Zoey-- definitely not. My thoughts exactly with my dearly beloved Perry/chihuahua,16yrs, 1 month now. He was my World. Like the rest of Us on this Forum -- The Best Memories have become a Memory. Cherish them all.       Shery/Perryx

Zoeys_mommy, I am so very sorry. Your pain resonates in your every word. Such a lovely tribute to your precious Zoey. Our fur kids make our world a much better place. They are with us for such a short time it seems but in that time they teach us the true meaning of unconditional love and pure unselfish devotion. Garth Brooks sings a beautiful song, The Dance. "I could have missed the pain but then I would have missed the dance". As heartwrenching as it is to lose them, I can't imagine a life without them so I keep bringing them into my life letting them rescue me again and again. Your words, the memories are etched in my heart, are so true. And in time our tears lessen as we remember the joy they bring to our lives. God bless you. Rest in peace dear Zoey.

Thank you for your kind words and you are so right. I love that Garth brooks song, and those words are perfectly true. I’m sorry for your loss as well.
