Some of you know that Brett had surgery last Friday to remove a mast cell tumor from his hip area. The pathology report came back yesterday and our vet called to tell us that she was not able to get all of the cancer. She got it wide enough, but not deep enough. She went all the way down to the muscle, but the cancer is in Brett's muscle tissue too. A second surgery to remove muscle tissue is not advised. He has an appt at a cancer center on Wednesday. They may be able to do radiation therapy to zap what is left of the cancer. We are still hopeful that Brett is going to pull through this.

My life has been a total nightmare since last August when Lucky first developed a mast cell tumor. After his surgery, it came back in January. I lost him on February 29th. Going through this with two furbabies in less than a year is just too much to bear.

If it wasn't for the wonderfully supportive people here at Petloss, I don't think I could make it. I will post an update after Brett's appt on Wednesday.

Please know that I will say many prayers for your dear Brett.  As Gerlie said, "hope is the thing that keeps us going."  Without that, we might as well give up.  It sounds to me as if there's a strong possibility that the radiation just might be the thing to get rid of the rest of the cancer.
Believe in the power of prayer.  You will certainly get a lot of support in that area at this site.
