well , got the news today. Not exactly what i wanted, maybe some of you expreienced this good or bad PLEASE share with me. Fenways test show that hes on the earliest stages of kidney failure. :( The dr. said he doesnt know if this is because of  his poor body condition he is extremly emaciated. They put him on an IV for fluids and gave him K/D food for kidney disesae he LOVES it and has eaten three Times a day and looked for more!! Hes drinking too and his poop was harder, never so happy about poop before!! Best thing ever is that i think he knew me and was happy to see me. He was wagging his tail and smiling. :) i only hope to have time with him to show him forever love and for him to learn that he is worth love and warm comfortable bed and belly rubs and all the food and water he wants. I told him i had people from all over praying for him!! Please keep us in your prayers.. i call him Lens Fen. Maybe he had a hand in knowing he needed me. Fenways a good good boy. Given a crappy life. He deserves a break. i hope its just fattening up he needs ..

You know I'll be praying for Fenways recovery!!  He's so lucky to have someone like you to love him and help him to mend during this time!

May the Father hold you both in his hands and bless you with health and happiness!  Rick

I can't imagine that starving is good for a body ;)...hopefully it's just good nutrition that he needs and his kidney function will be back to normal in no time!

Of course he knew you and was happy to see you. You are his mom! Fenway knows and feels your love and I just know he will recover just fine and is looking forward to getting back to his forever home. I am so happy that he is eating and smiling and feeling better. He knows he is loved now.

just get that boy fattened up to a normal body wt and then have the blood tests redone and see where you are at that point.    we all want that baby back in your home and in your loving arms!!!     that poor darling needs someone to love and take care of him and you are just the person to do that.   he loves you now and you love him.   the bond has already been formed and will never be broken.   i have a feeling that this will be a very special bond in both of your lives.    please keep us posted and give that baby a big hug and smooch from his petloss family!    how old is he btw?

thank you everyone!!! I do love him, even after 10 days. Today he was almost JUMPING ..which was funny and heart lifting. They arent sure how old he is but hes older..they sd at first 5? 6 but maybe even 8 he aged because of his life style..so who knows for sure. They got him on Oct 17 so we claim that as his birthday. I know im only a foster technically but he cant even be adopted yet..i know i wont let him go. I am scared to set myself up for heart break..but he needs me. So it is a risk i will take. He was going to go home today but threw up at 5 :( not sure what that means. But hes been eating about every 2/3 hours which is a ton mroe then hes had all month, maybe too much for his stomach. This vet is amazing they let you come at all hours of the night. I got off work and was there at 940 and sat with him til 1030 i took him outside for a walk and sat in his crate trying to show him how to cuddle..hes not so good at it. Hes starting to look me in the eye now and he almost half kissed me... i just hope i am given the chance to show him how life is suppose to be so when his time comes he will be sitting with Louie Sheba and My big gorgous guy Lenny <3 thank you for all your kind words..i love you all for helping me each day.

I went through kidney issues with my 13 year old Lhaso Apso...changing the food to wet food and low protein was the key.    Changing treats..to low protein.  Keep me posted on how Lenny does.  Alot of fresh water as well.   It's is manageable...you just have to train people to not feed him table scraps...that he's on special food.  Good luck and keep us updated...

Fenway is doing pretty good had a great weekend. Eating i think i can see him fill alittle out :) he goes to the Vet office Friday after thanksgiving. They will retest his Kidneys to see if they have gotten worse or if hes feeling better they are getting better. Nervous. Hes a bundle of fun now , I have to seperate him from Coal my puppy because they love to play..i finally heard him howl a few times which sounds so funny. I wonder if he can hear himself? Hes a good boy. Hes eating some special food 4 times a day and cant get enough. No more idarreah either ..yeah!! Im excited to add him to my list of things to be thankful for this year..in year where i struggle to find alot Im glad i have him!!!
