It's late, and I'm sorry......but not really!!  I not only got my Silver Cloud home today, but also a companion pup named Rowdy!!  My sweet Lord, I'm on cloud nine!!

Yesterday, SC's mom called me and said that she'd just gotten a pure white Siberian that was being given up because the owner has a girlfriend that has allergies to dogs!  I'm sayin' "There's plenty of girlfriends out there....but how many dogs like this??"  :)

His loss is my gain....I had that immediate connection again!  The shelter owner let me know that she'd put Rowdy in with SC right away to see if they'd get along....and did they get along!!  It was a no-brainer!!  I brought them both home today, and have had most of the neighborhood over visiting, in anticipation of the big event!  Kids, other dogs, neighborhood families....and they all got along great!  My buddy, Henry, the neighbor dog that has been helping me out over the last few months, has been playing with them both in the kennel run for most of the evening.  SC has already escaped once, but only for a few minutes....he ran across the street (I live on a dead-end street off of another dead end street......no cars!!), went into Henry's kennel, and I trapped him there.  He just looked at me and smiled!  He's going to be a tester, that one!

I will get some pics up tomorrow.  I think you all will be able to see why I've fallen in love with these two precious pups that my Luke and Lil led me to.

Now, I'm beat from chasing them around in the kennel run all night.....more tomorrow!  LukeAndLilAndSilverCloudAndRowdysDad.....OK, just "Rick" from now on!!

Wow, that's so wonderful! Congratulations! Luke and Lil must be smiling from ear to ear. Well, I guess you will need to be forgiven if you aren't hanging around here as much for a while, until you get your pups settled in.

Rick - Your wonderful news has definitely made my day.  The excitement and happiness you convey is amazing. Silver Cloud and Rowdy have to be the luckiest dogs ever finding their forever home, and I know that Luke and Lil approve.  I look forward to reading much more about them plus pictures when you have time.  I can't wait to tell Melanie about your your new pups - she too will be so happy for you!!!!  Diane

Oh, what a happy day!!!  What a great day!!!!

I know you are on cloud nine and you deserve to be on cloud 15!!!!

I can relate so much.

EmmyLou got away from us too on her first day.  Thank goodness she came to me when I found her.  We live in the country on 20 heavily wooded acres.  We have 2 acres fenced off and that little dickens found the one hole in the fence.

Once again, I am so very happy for everyone in your family.  I have been checking and checking to see this wonderful post.

First day....Silver Cloud escapes from the maximum security dog kennel that I spent two days putting up!  Runs next door and checks out Henry's kennel where he is promptly recaptured!  First night.....neither dog wants to stay in the same room as the other...apparently they got used to having their own "night-time" spaces at the rescue.  Fine!!  Rowdy stays in the basement, and SilverCloud is in the smaller outside kennel.  3:30 a.m.....barking like crazy!!  I get up to check it out...SC has scared a small black bear up into a dead pine tree, so I let him in the other basement room.

Next I think it was something like Sharon changed the diapers while I warmed up the formula.....that's kind of how I feel!  And, I love it!!

I sent some pics to Ed so they could be fixed for uploading....I assume they'll be ready sometime tonight and I will post them as soon as I get them.  Sharon got a few with me and the pups, too, so will try to get those ready for posting tomorrow.  One thing hasn't changed.....it was hard to sleep when Luke and Lil left......now it's hard to sleep taking care of the new babies!

Thanks, everyone, for putting up with my giddiness!  I have been one happy camper the last few days, and now especially since I have the pups home!

Thanks for coming back, Melanie and Diane......I've missed you guys!!  Rick

Well, better late than never!  Here are a few of the pics that Sharon took of me and the pups after I got them home.  They took right to their new kennel run, and they seem to enjoy the new sights, sounds and smells of their new environs.  I was a little worried about walking them, thinking that they'd pull too hard and choke, so I just decided to try Luke and Lil's harnesses on them....they did better than I ever could have imagined.  We put on about 4 miles today, through the trails in the woods by our place, and it's obvious to me that either 1)  Luke and Lil have been teaching them harness walking etiquette or 2) they've done this before and are quite good at it.  I'm going with #1!!

By the way, the old guy with the dogs is just a stand-in actor....I'm actually six foot six with jet black hair and bulging muscles!

I'm still flying, PetLoss family!  It doesn't get much better than this!

I cannot contain my joy and happiness for all of you! The pictures are incredibly AWESOME! My vote on the harnesses is #1 also. Luke and Lil are blessing you from Heaven above. Our babies know us so very well and they also know how to heal our hearts. Silver Cloud and Rowdy know they are HOME. Just looking at their pictures I can see their happiness especially the wonderful SMILES! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for letting us all share in your happiness.
God bless, Linda

Wow, one never knows what life has in store for us and what is just around the corner.  Just goes to show you that you can move from extreme sadness to pure joy.  I know, I have been there myself twice this year and know how good it feels to start over with another loving fur baby (or 2 in your case!).  These two are the luckiest doggies to be in your care - the jubilation in all of your faces is quite clear!  Congratulations to you and Sharon as you start on the new journey ahead!

Oh MYYYY!

My favorite photo is #3 with the boys looking into each other's eyes so intently.  It's the look of "Best Bud's" blooming :-}

My second favorite is of the "stand in" rubbing Silver Cloud's neck, he's smiling and bending his head towards you...  Just Fabulous.  I have never seen "instant bonding between animals and human" before.  Really makes my heart smile.

Keep the photos coming, we're loving it!
I didn't want anyone to know who I really was, but now that you are sharing....I will too.

Just saw the pics of your "Boys(!)" and you!  What beautiful pictures you make!  And.....what a happy family you are!  I see smiles on everyone's faces!  I laughed til I had tears running down my face when I read the part about the stand-in actor.........that was a good one! No need to worry Rick, anyone lovin' on a dog is #1 in my book!  It's the heart that counts and we all know that your heart is a big one!  Those boys look like they simply could not be any happier!  The smile on Silver Cloud is just captivating....he really  just looks like he's on a love high(!) and has no plans to come down from it!
Rowdy looks like he's ready to play and is really a stunning looking boy!  They are both so handsome, but I must admit Silver Cloud's smile has me smitten!  I always was a sucker for a great smile! Please keep those pics coming as you're able to find the time!  My sincere prayer is that you and Sharon and your "Boys" will have many happy, healthy years together!  I'm so glad that "Life is Good!"

My best to all of you!  (Give those boys a big hug for me!)

Wow, I'm blown away by all of your comments, and so appreciative of your well wishes!  Each day with these guys brings with it new adventures!  The personality distinctions are coming through loud and clear and it's just a joy to participate in the formation of these new bonds!

SilverCloud will probably establish his dominance at some point, but he's so laid back that he often lets the little squirt think that he's the boss.  Rowdy loves to have a ball thrown for him, but will go after everything, including stuff I throw for SC, just to show me that itss his game and nobody else's!  Rowdy is acting more protective of me now, and will vocalize to Henry (the neighbor dog) when he comes up to the kennel.  Poor ol' Henry is just a big, mellow guy who has been my buddy over the past few months, and doesn't quite know what to make of this new situation.  I've made it a practice to have some alone time with Henry each night, and to continue to give him his dog cookie.....he deserves it!

The other thing that Rowdy does is he dances!  It is too darn cute!  When he is excited, or sees me coming up to the kennel gate, he gets up on his back legs and jumps up and down and twirls around....I've never seen anything like it!  He is a sweetheart, and I've caught myself calling him my sweet baby girl at times.  Got to watch that, as sometimes I see my Lil in him!

SilverCloud is showing such a sweet, cuddly side that I never would've guessed.  When he's walking on harness, he's a mighty hunter, and always on the prowl.  When I'm scratching him in his kennel or on our downstairs couch (Shhhhhhh.....don't tell Sharon!), he just melts into me, rolls on his back and looks up at me with those beautiful, almost spooky blue eyes.  Because of a couple of reactions I've already seen from him, I sense that he may have been abused in the past.  I will do all that I can to make him see that he will never again experience anything but kindness and love, and God help anyone who even considers raising a hand to him!!

As you can tell, I already love my boys dearly.  I have never before had this kind of instant bonding to animals, and am quite sure that Luke and Lil have had no small part in this.  I am so grateful to my God, my Luke and Lil, Sharon, and you, my PetLoss family, for helping to get me to this place.  Miracles can truly happen!  God Bless!  Rick

Rick, one of the first things I do when I sign on to this site is to see how many more post you have received during the night.  It is incredible all the love and understanding everyone has for not only you, but everyone of us that are in pain.

Then when were are lucky enough to work through the pain and suffering(with the help of everyone here) and we are able to connect with a fur baby, the joy everyone feels for us is overwhelming.

The people here are truly amazing.  I have never seen an unkind word or words like "get hold of yourself, or get over it; it is just a dog (or cat) like we have heard from some of the people in our lives.

But back to you and SilverCloud and Rowdy.  I am so happy for you and Sharon.  I know the pain you have been going through.  I went through it too; although, you went through it double time because you suffered the loss twice.

And I understand the joy you are feeling.  It is like Christmas morning everyday I wake up when I have EmmyLou cuddling against me in bed.  Yes she sleeps with us :).

I think Hubbie is a little jealous because she has REALLY, REALLY bonded with me.  He keesp saying that he is going to get him a dog.  Well, It is reversal time.  Bonnie was his girl and I tell him that now is my turn---lol.  Of course we laugh about it.

So very thrilled for you and Sharon.  More pictures when you have time.  Oh, I am proud of you for paying attention to Henry too.  I think Henry helped you through those horrible days and may feel a little left out; but you are taking care of that by paying attention to him too.

~~~~~HUGS~~~~~
