Just as we moved to Germany and went on vacation to Italy, a horrible event happened. Our baby girl German Shepherd was hit by a motorcycle near a beach. She was playing on the beach and swimming and then suddenly she ran to the country beach road which was clear. Then a motorcycle appeared from nowhere and that was when she crossed the street. I cannot forgive myself for letting her off the leash to swim. I am always very careful and I kept my eyes on her all the time. She did not listen to my calls and claps. She looked at me and proceeded to the road. This is absolutely devastating. She was such a smart and loving dog. She liked children and visitors. She did great walking crowded streets in Germany and never left me. She was a sunshine for us.
Mila, we will love you forever!

Trixie16,

Thank you so much for your support. I am trying to think that Mila is in a better place now and she is running and having fun with other dogs.
We love her so much and will never forget her cute face with her pointy ears and a smart look like she is investigating something.

Paula,
Thank you so much. I am thinking my girl is playing with my first German Shepherd Santana, who passed 20 months ago at age 10, and they are happy.

Dear Mila,

I still miss you very much and cannot find my place without you in the house. You raised the boys during their high school years and made sure they all went to college. We sent them off to college and flew together to Germany. While on vacation in Italy, I lost you as the motorcycle hit you when you ran from the beach. I will never know why you ran from the beach to the beach road as there was nothing there but this accelerating motorcycle on the pedestrian crosswalk. It all happened so strangely. I know that you did it for a reason. No reason will ever be good enough for me.
I will always love you and miss you.

Your Mom
