Hello everyone,
We thought we'd drop by and say "Hello" and from Mary's home in Ireland.
For many of you who've been visiting Pet Loss since 2003, 2004, both of us were messaging here about our beloved pets. At that time, a friendship began, over 8 years ago now.
After many emails, phone calls and promises that 'one day' we would meet, it finally has happened, with my flying first to London, England and then on to Ireland after the Queen's Jubilee weekend.
Mary now had two absolutely lovely dogs, a lady terrier called Georgie and a rambunctious Jack Russell terrier, Alfie. Both have wiggled and wagged their tails to say their welcomes to me.
As I have never been to Ireland previously on any trips to my homeland of England, it's been delightful to travel around the local area, which is mainly rural farmland with very old villages interspersed among the vast landscape. Today, Mary and I visited Melleray Abbey for the afternoon. It was built in 1837, so you can imagine the great historical significance to the area where Mary lives. We met a very kind and interesting monk, Brother Dennis, who is a Trappist monk of about 53 years and must be over 80.
Tomorrow, I will be on my way to Wales. But if it weren't for Ed and Pet Loss, we'd never have such a long distance friendship.
Perhaps some of you will remember us although Mary doesn't visit this site any more and I do very occasionally.
Sending our blessings to you all and your angel babies.
Wendy and Mary.
